Why Seattle is Ridiculous

See where I've bolded...

... WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM PST WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING FOR SOUTHERN ZONES IN WESTERN WASHINGTON...

ALTHOUGH EVERYWHERE IN WESTERN WASHINGTON WILL GET SOME SNOW... SOME AREAS MAY NOT GET HEAVY SNOW... OR IF THEY DO... IT WILL BEGIN A LITTLE LATER. FOR THESE AREAS... WHICH INCLUDE THE SEATTLE/BREMERTON AREA... TACOMA AND VICINITY... THE SOUTHWEST INTERIOR... THE LOWER CHEHALIS VALLEY... THE HOOD CANAL AREA... AND THE CENTRAL COAST... A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT.

FORECASTS CALL FOR UP TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW IN THESE AREAS ON WEDNESDAY... AND ANOTHER INCH OR TWO COULD FALL WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THERE IS UNCERTAINTY ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF SNOW THAT COULD FALL OVER THESE AREAS BUT THE WATCH COULD BE CHANGED TO A WARNING LATER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... MONITOR WEATHER FORECASTS AND ROAD CONDITIONS CAREFULLY. STAY INDOORS IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. TRAVEL IS LIKELY TO BE ADVERSELY IMPACTED WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY AND POSSIBLY LONGER.

For 2 fricking inches of snow....  yeeeeeeesh!!!

"Stay indoors if at all possible"

Apparently you have that killer snow where you live ;)

ha ha. we don't get winter warnings unless the expected snowfall is greater than 6 inches, and only then if it's going to fall really fast with lots of wind. we've got one now because we're supposed to be getting ten tomorrow.

stay indoors if at all possible, what do they think people will freeze solid upon contact with snow?! seattle is full of a bunch of pansies! (though, i suspect its all relative)

Well, it's that whole lack of salt trucks (can't hurt the environment!) and a lot of steep hills, combined with a lack of driving ability in normal weather (exponential increase in stupidity as weather degrades).

But yes, Seattleites are pansies!

Admittedly, I'm working from home today due to the desire to avoid having to deal with Seattle drivers (plus, any excuse to work from home in my sweats!).

The storm was delayed until early this AM, I'd say we've gotten a good 3 inches, maybe more - it stopped snowing ~2 hrs ago and just started again... this is actually a lot of snow for Seattle. Looks like I'll be working from home again tomorrow!
